The park is open 7 days a week. The historic buildings are open on Sundays from 1 pm - 4 pm. In 1929, it became the very first classroom of the educational system Ford created in Greenfield Village. It now serves as a Museum exhibit and is a functioning part of the Village’s educational and interpretive programming. Originally constructed in 1861 in what was then Dearborn Township’s Scotch Settlement area, Henry Ford attended this very school from ages seven to ten. Museum: Mill Race Historical Village. Moved to the Village in 1975, this building served Washtenaw and Oakland counties as a one-room school from 1873 to 1966. It was originally located on the W side of Currie Rd, between 7 & 8 Mile Rds. Unfortunately, only 30 years after the school opened, it burned-down. This was the only school in the Salem area, so it was quickly rebuilt. This school taught students from 3rd through 12th grade. Please contact the office at (248) 348-1845. If you are a teacher and you're interested in having your students spend a day in the one room schoolhouse. Private tours are offered at $5 per person with 10 people minimum. Teacher and up to 3 adults get in for free. Guided tours last about 1 hour

The present Weber-Blaess one-room school was built in 1867 in S/17, on Ellsworth Rd in Lodi Township.
