In 1873 a committee was formed to built a new brick school. The brick school was torn-down in 1953 to make room for a two-room cement block schoolhouse. Due to a growing population in 1965 the district annexed to Berrien Springs and Eau Claire. In 1976 the building was used for Eau Claire Kindergartens. It is a now a private residence |

Stickney #5f | Watervliet | Berrien | circa 1851-1940 | 4 miles north of Watervliet at the corner of M-140 and Hagar Shore Rd. | Log/W | Whatever building there was used for a school starting about 1851. It burned down about 1866. In 1867, the Dill Boys built the existing Stickney School building. In 1859, there were 23 students at Stickney for a 7.5 month school year. In 1924, Stickney educated students from the beginners grade through 8th grade, but after that in 1925 the 7th and 8th graders attended Watervliet City School. Sometime in the 1930's the 5th and 6th graders also started attending the City School. The last year Stickney housed pupils was the 1939-40 school year when 28 were enrolled. It then closed as a school, but was used as a community center with a variety of events. In 1955, the Church of Christ became owners of the Stickney School. Clymer School (New) | Watervliet | Berrien | 1917-1958 | B | By 1900 the little building was bulging with over 50 students each term. In 1917, a new two-room brick school was constructed with a full basement for a cost of $9,500. Even with two rooms and a basement conditions were crowded. In 1954, a $36,000 bond was passed and a one-room brick addition was added as were other modern conveniences. In 1958, Clymer annexed to Coloma Community Schools. Its information name but Bundy School. In 1843 a log cabin school was erected but burned in 1849. Matilda Irvin had taught at Bundy School for the first 3 years. In 1850 a replacement wood structure was built. That building was sold in 1883 and it was moved and a new Bundy School, made of wood, was constructed that same year and it stood until the 1960's. Coloma #1f | Coloma | Berrien | Village | 2 | Log/W | In 1865 after the Dickerville name change there was a one room frame building that replaced the first log building. The cost was $349. In 1870 the school was remodeled, another room added. this Little gem of a school was located at the corner of Leedy and West Sts and built at a cost of $5,000. In 1900 improvements were made again and then again in 1920. A new larger building continued for years to come. In 1964 a question of merging Watervliet and Coloma was defeated and in 1959 8 rural schools went together (Curtin, Brick, Pier, Eaman, Coloma and others) and that is how Coloma got its present school system.
